Building a Network of Capabilities

Since the Network’s launch in 1998, much time and effort has been invested in establishing the foundation for our capabilities network. As is the case with any new endeavor, the time spent is proving to be rewarding, time consuming, a learning process, frustrating, insightful, and very promising…all rolled into one.

After many hours, days, and weeks of telephone calls and talking with hundreds of consultants representing dozens of capabilities, We have come to a greater realization that the "specialty" healthcare consulting market is quite large and highly fragmented. Every firm has their target niche or vision of what they want to be when they grow up.

A few know exactly who they are, what they do for their customers, and why they do what they do. Many others know far to little about (or have time to think about) who they are and what they want to be. Some talked about their "high wire" circus act. You know -- having to run the business, sell the business, and grow the business -- all at the same time.

In a relatively short period of time, ConcentricHealth has established a formidable list of companies that offer a wide range of consulting expertise, methods, tools, and products. Even though the network is just forming, we are already seeing the potential of the network. The consultants now have a broader spectrum of capabilities to offer their customers. Several companies have pooled capabilities in joint-bidding opportunities. This has established a level of cooperation and collaboration that did not exist prior to ConcentricHealth.
