Performance Improvement
HMC's competitive advantage comes from its understanding of the performance improvement process:
Generating Will
Generating the organizational will to improve involves many things. A key requirement is a credible set of goals that focus efforts and resources.
HMC benchmarking enables the client to set credible goals.
 |
HMC’s benchmarking data is highly scrubbed and auditable, ensuring both accuracy and clear links to the client's internal reports. |
 |
Our process educates the client's managers to see and understand how comparisons are made, so they believe the results. |
 |
Our experienced team evaluates the client's performance from several dimensions (Clinical, Functional, and Span of Control), giving the client what they need to set realistic goals. |
HMC helps the client to focus and motivate their teams toward positive change.
 |
HMC’s benchmarking models show the client where others in their peer group are achieving quality care for lower cost. |
 |
Our unique summary analyses pinpoint opportunities for improvement and help the client set and communicate priorities. |
Generating Ideas
Generating ideas for improvement is not simply asking "what are others doing?" but "how did they get there?" HMC provides the client with a wide range of networking tools to facilitate real knowledge and experience transfer.
HMC stands alone in the ability to help the client generate performance improvement ideas.
 |
HMC’s Knowledge Managers focus the client's
managers and facilitate discussions between Partners, asking the right
questions and directing conversations toward solutions to Performance
Improvement challenges. |
 |
The HMC Partnership is a demand-driven, knowledge-generating network that links people across institutions, with guided telephone calls, conferences, surveys, email, and a new online forum. |
The HMC KnowledgeWeb TM is the next step.
 |
The HMC KnowledgeWeb TM is a database-driven online community that generates, captures, and shares performance improvement data and ideas. |
 |
Partners subscribe to areas of their interest, ask open or targeted questions, and search libraries of success stories, past communications, peer data and more. |
Generating Results
Taken together, HMC’s system of benchmarks, analyses, and networking tools help the client to accomplish more.
With HMC, the client gains more from benchmarking than pure comparison data. Benchmarking becomes the basis for performance improvement results.
 |
HMC goes beyond benchmarking to show the client not only where they stand, but explicitly where they can improve, and the HMC KnowledgeWeb TM gives them the tactics for that improvement. |
 |
HMC’s program comes together with the client's strategy to provide focus and support an environment for change. |
HMC Partners experience impressive improvements.
